Where is the school?

Can we enrol at any time, or only for Foundation?

We welcome enrolments throughout the year and in all year levels. If your child is already at another Victorian government school, it's a simple transfer between schools with parent permission.

How do we enrol?

Victorian government schools use the Department of Education process. Some families enrol online through VicStudents (via a Services Victoria login) and others use a paper form. Contact the school and we'll let you know which suits you and guide you through it.

What documents do we need?

You'll need your child's birth certificate or proof of age, an immunisation history statement, proof of address, and any learning, medical or custody information so we can support your child well from the start.

How does starting Foundation (Prep) work?

New Foundation students attend transition days during Terms 3 and 4, starting with short morning visits and building up to full days in Term 4. These days are synchronised with the local Kindergarten and the Statewide Transition Days, so children move up together with familiar faces. You'll be advised of dates when you enrol.

Is there a school bus?

Yes. Free school bus pickup is available for families across the district, including Tarrawingee, Eldorado, North Wangaratta, Byawatha and Londrigan. Call us to confirm the route and stop nearest you.

Question 7

Is there after school care?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Carra families have access to TheirCare after school care. Students are safely collected by bus from school and taken to the TheirCare program at Everton Primary School. Enrol at theircare.com.au or call 1300 072 410, and up to 90% of the cost may be covered by the Child Care Subsidy for eligible families.

Do you have a playgroup?

Yes. Carra Caterpillars Playgroup runs every Friday during the school term from 9:30am to 11:00am at the school. It's free, there's no need to book, and it's open to babies, toddlers and preschoolers with their parents, grandparents or carers.

Is there a uniform, and where do we buy it?

Yes, there is a school uniform. Uniforms are available from Steers Co. in Wangaratta.
