How enrolment works

1

Get in touch

Send an enquiry below or call us on (03) 5725 1531. We'll answer your questions and, if you'd like, arrange a time to visit.

2

Come and see us

Book a tour so you and your child can get a feel for the school, meet our staff (and the animals), and picture your child here.

3

Complete an enrolment form

We'll let you know whether to use the Department's online enrolment or a paper form, and guide you through it step by step.

4

Settle in

We help every child transition smoothly, including gentle Foundation transition days across Terms 3 and 4 for our youngest starters.

What you'll need

  • Your child's birth certificate or proof of age
  • Immunisation history statement
  • Proof of address
  • Any learning, medical or custody information so we can support your child well

Starting Foundation (Prep)

Starting school is an exciting milestone. Our small classes, caring staff and supportive environment help every child feel safe, confident and ready to learn. We work closely with families to build strong foundations in literacy, numeracy, wellbeing and social skills from the very first day.

During Terms 3 and 4, new Foundation students attend transition days, beginning with short morning visits and building up to full days in Term 4, so they get to know their classroom, teacher and new friends before they start. Our transition days are synchronised with the local Kindergarten and the Statewide Transition Days, so children move up together with familiar faces. You'll be advised of these dates when you enrol.

Not quite school age yet? Our Carra Caterpillars playgroup on Friday mornings is a gentle first taste of school. And once children start, families can access after school care through TheirCare.

The official enrolment process

Carraragarmungee is a Victorian government school, so enrolments follow the Department of Education process. Some families enrol online through VicStudents (via a Services Victoria login), and others prefer a paper form. In a small school, either works just as easily. The best first step is simply to get in touch and we'll let you know which suits you and walk you through it.

Uniforms are available from Steers Co. in Wangaratta.
