OVENS LEARNING COMMUNITY

OLC

The Ovens Learning Community cluster of schools consists of seven primary schools along the Ovens River near Wangaratta.

The schools are Carraragarmungee, Everton, Whorouly, Milawa, Oxley, Glenrowan and Winton Primary Schools. The OLC cluster is a vibrant group of schools who share professional practice amongst staff facilitated through Professional Learning Teams on a regular basis throughout the year.

In 2017 teacher professional learning is focussed on the implementation of the new Victorian Curriculum to improve learning outcomes for all our students.

Children from across the schools learn together through cultural, sporting and social activities on a regular basis.

The Ovens Learning Community provides a social network for the children outside of their own environment in larger numbers of students at each year level. This provides a great opportunity to mix socially, develop friendships and develop networks ready for transition to secondary schooling in Wangaratta at the end of Year 6.
