We Remember Project 2015

wangaratta-rural-cityThe Rural City of Wangaratta recently hosted We Remember, a night filled with entertainment from local school students, an image projection installation and the premiere of the We Remember documentary.

Over 700 people attended the event and had the opportunity to view the We Remember documentary produced by Noisebox Productions in conjunction with the Rural City of Wangaratta, featuring students from Our Lady’s Primary School, Myrrhee Primary School, Carraragarmungee Primary School and Wangaratta High School as well as relatives of local World War 1 Veterans.

The We Remember documentary is now available to be viewed on the culturewangaratta.com website which is a keeping place for local stories, films and photographs about people, memory and place. The website acts as a virtual museum so that local stories can be passed on from generation to generation and will leave an ongoing legacy for the future ensuring these stories are heard.

“The We Remember event and documentary were a fitting tribute to the Anzac Centenary. Working with local school students has ensured that local stories from World War 1 live on,” said Jaime Carroll – Director of Community Wellbeing.
